Place: Friar Lawrence’s cell
Time: Midday Wednesday
Friar John tells Friar Lawrence that he got sick on the way to Mantua to deliver the letter, ( another sign of fate not wanting Romeo and Juliet to survive) so Romeo has no way of knowing that Juliet is in fact alive. Friar Lawrence decides he must go get her himself, before something bad happens.
Quote: “Unhappy fortune!” (paradox)
I believe that fate has played a big part in this story, and God could very well be behind it. Even though taking your own life is considered a sin, God has made sacrifices and exceptions to his own rules, like in the bible, he sent a flood, wiping out almost all of the population. I think the death of Romeo and Juliet needed to happen, as it may play a big role later and influence events that fate, or God have designed to happen.
